TETRO – Grand Hôtel-Dieu - event film

Our Lyon video agency produced a recap film of the opening of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu in Lyon.

A shoot and edit “on the spot” for the agency TETRO, who produced and directed the event.

The size of the crowd meant the camera axes had to be studied precisely during rehearsals, to guarantee viewpoints that were both striking and reachable. Shooting across the whole evening with three cameras made it possible to cover every work presented in this magnificent place.

Four spaces were brought forward. A dance-theater performance greeted the audience as they arrived, then a classical concert with the façade of the future InterContinental hotel lit up. The audience then moved to a photography exhibition about the craftspeople who restored the site. Finally the Cour du Midi held the inaugural moment, with speeches and a dance performance.

The speeches only happened once in the evening, so a precise brief and rehearsals were needed to miss nothing.

We edited using several techniques. The performances were cut multi-camera, to have many angles and pick the right one at every moment. We then set the overall music of the film and shortened every performance, to give a sense of the evening as a whole.

Our film of that opening evening is on this page.
