LYON AIRPORT — 50th anniversary film

LYON AEROPORT

For its 50th anniversary, Lyon Airport presents “The future for destination,” a corporate film that looks back on half a century of opening up to the world and affirms its role as a partner to its region.

Fifty years ago, Lyon gained a new gateway to the world. To celebrate the anniversary, Lyon Airports, operated by VINCI Airports, wanted a corporate film telling the story of that ambition and what it has become: a hub that connects millions of travelers every year, and a driver of its region's development, creating human, economic and cultural connections.

The film gives the airport its own voice. Speaking in the first person, it tells its history, its professions and its commitments: welcoming passengers, operations, maintenance, energy, and its ties with partners and local stakeholders. Every team finds its place in a single story, a shared history looking to the future.

The film also links today's challenges with tomorrow's: traffic growth and the energy transition, local roots and international reach, technology and people. Teams at work, departing aircraft and the solar carport make up the portrait of an airport on the move.

The shoot took place over three days, on the ground and by drone, across the whole site. It was prepared with the airport's teams, in line with the rules of a restricted area: flight permits, escorted access close to the runways, shots of an aircraft taxiing.

Released on the airport's channels since February 2026, in French and English, this corporate film now supports its institutional communication.
