Six GoPros under a drone, an afternoon of settings
This time, on 2 and 3 April, we filmed a 360° video for EDF with a DJI S1000 fitted with retractable legs (thanks to Fabien Deregel at E-copter for approving the S1000 so quickly, and to Benoît at Air Libre). The rig sat once again on a three-axis Cinestar gimbal, but this time only the propellers remain in shot when you look up.
The day was also a chance to try DJI’s new octocopter, the S1000. Here are a few photographs and an extract of the finished interactive 360° film.
Aerial 360, a machine problem before it is a picture
Filming in 360° from a drone raises a problem the ground never does: the machine carrying the camera is in shot. The whole job is making it disappear — retractable legs, where the rig sits, settings redone flight after flight.
This shoot was run for EDF, with a DJI S1000 and the support of Air Libre.
